Share

Export of Polish products to global markets, competitiveness in a world focused on sustainable development and greenwashing traps that producers and retail chains should avoid. These are the topics of three debates with the participation of representatives of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, the management board of Lidl Polska, suppliers, non-governmental organizations and chambers and associations of the food industry. All debates will take place at the POLAGRA fair.

Debates and conversations during the fair are an excellent platform for meetings between representatives of government authorities and the largest enterprises operating in the food industry. Representatives of the main partner of the fair - Lidl Polska - will take part in three of them.

Valuable foreign markets

Local products increasingly find buyers on foreign markets. They bring recognition to their producers, providing an impulse for further development.

How can local products become important elements of the national economy? How can producers themselves effectively export, promote and sell their products? The guests of the debate will discuss these issues: “Local products on the global market. Export as a natural path of business development.

The announced guests of the meeting include Czesław Siekierski - Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, Włodzimierz Wlaźlak - President of the Management Board of Lidl Polska, Jacek Strzelecki - President of the Management Board of the Polish Meat Association and representatives of dairy industry producers.

The debate will take place on Wednesday, September 25, at 1:00 p.m. Immediately afterwards, the ceremonial opening of the POLAGRA fair will begin.

Sustainable development without greenwashing

Manufacturers, distributors, retail chains recognize the need to reduce the impact on the natural environment. What can be done at individual stages of the supply chain to reduce emissions? What does cooperation between retail chains and suppliers look like in this respect? How is the process supervised by the legislator? Why certified products? What investments for sustainable development are Polish companies making?

Participants in the debate "Sustainable development and ESG in the food industry supply chain" will try to answer these and other questions.

Representatives of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, the management board of Lidl Polska and suppliers will also take part in this meeting. Krzysztof Rutkowski - partner at the KDCP law firm, whose representatives will conduct one of the training sessions on the same day (on a small stage).

The phenomenon of greenwashing in the food industry mainly concerns presenting products as ecological, natural or healthy, despite the fact that their production may be harmful to the environment or the products themselves may contain harmful ingredients.

How to avoid greenwashing? Why is it not profitable in the long run?

The meeting scheduled for Thursday, September 26, at 1:00 p.m. will be attended by Minister Czesław Siekierski, Przemysław Rzodkiewicz – Chief Inspector of Commercial Quality of Agricultural and Food Products, a representative of the Management Board of Lidl Polska, Dariusz Sapiński – President of the Management Board of the Mlekovita Group and Barbara Dąbek – Director of the Strategic Partnerships Department of WWF Polska.
