The first retail chain in Poland with reverse vending machines in all stores.
Since April 2025, all Lidl Polska stores – the Main Partner of the POLAGRA trade fair – have been equipped with reverse vending machines, allowing customers to return beverage containers.
Over 950 stores across Poland – and each one equipped with a reverse vending machine. We're talking about Lidl Polska. This achievement marks a significant step toward sustainable development and efficient packaging waste management.
Convenience for customers, a benefit for the planet
The rollout of reverse vending machines across the entire Lidl network is a response to the growing expectations of consumers and the upcoming implementation of the deposit return system. The new regulations are set to take effect in October this year and aim to increase the collection and recycling rates of bottles and cans.
Thanks to these machines, customers can easily return empty beverage containers, contributing to environmental protection and the promotion of a circular economy. To recap, the machines accept plastic bottles (up to 3 liters) and metal cans (up to 1 liter). Importantly, the returned items do not need to have been purchased at Lidl Polska.
A partnership built on shared values
As the organizers of the POLAGRA trade fair, we are proud to partner with a company that not only supports Polish suppliers and promotes local products but also actively contributes to environmental protection. Lidl Polska’s presence at POLAGRA is a perfect opportunity to exchange experiences in the field of innovation and sustainable development.
