Doggoccino™ – A Protein Drink for Dogs Inspired by the Coffee Culture
Inspired by the growing trend of pet humanisation, Warsaw-based coffee brand GBS has created Doggoccino™ – a protein-based drink for dogs inspired by the classic cappuccino. The product combines creative marketing with food innovation and reflects changing consumer lifestyles, highlighting the growing role of pet-friendly concepts in the HoReCa industry. GBS will present this unique concept at POLAGRA 2026, taking place on 23–25 September in Poznań.
Dogs should never drink coffee. However, they are increasingly accompanying their owners to pet-friendly cafés and restaurants. Inspired by this trend and the growing phenomenon of pet humanisation, Warsaw-based coffee brand GBS has created Doggoccino™ – a protein-based drink for dogs inspired by the classic cappuccino.
Just a few years ago, a bowl of water placed outside a café was considered a thoughtful gesture. Today, more and more restaurants, cafés and hotels are becoming pet friendly, and dogs have become full participants in their owners' everyday activities. Going out for a coffee together is no longer unusual, especially in large cities such as Warsaw.
GBS decided to approach this trend with a sense of humour.
From the very beginning, the creators of Doggoccino™ have emphasised that the project was developed with a wink. Unsurprisingly, GBS jokingly describes it as the "Warsaw final boss for all dog parents" – a drink that every dog visiting the Polish capital should try.
"Doggoccino™ was created as a creative response to the growing trend of pet humanisation and the increasing popularity of places where people can spend time together with their pets. We wanted to develop a product that is both a playful reference to the wave of internet memes about Warsaw locals and a fully developed product designed with dogs' needs in mind," says Mikołaj Pytlik, Chief Operating Officer at GBS.
Although it resembles a traditional cappuccino, Doggoccino™ contains neither coffee nor caffeine. It is a complementary liquid pet food for adult dogs, made from hydrolysed beef collagen protein and hydrolysed poultry liver protein. The product has been carefully formulated to become a safe part of a shared café experience – naturally, in a version created exclusively for four-legged companions.
According to its creators, Doggoccino™ has the potential to become much more than an internet curiosity.
At present, Doggoccino™ is available exclusively through the GBS online store. Although it was originally launched as a limited-edition marketing project, the strong interest it has generated suggests considerable potential for expansion into the HoReCa sector, particularly in pet-friendly cafés, restaurants and hospitality venues.
Today's food industry is increasingly driven by the intersection of innovation, consumer trends and creative marketing. Doggoccino™ is an excellent example of a product that responds to changing consumer lifestyles while simultaneously strengthening brand recognition.
Innovative products and inspiring market solutions such as these will be showcased at this year's POLAGRA, where food manufacturers, technology suppliers and HoReCa professionals will come together to explore the latest industry trends. GBS will be among the exhibitors at the event, which will take place 23–25 September 2026 at the Poznań International Fair (MTP Expo) in Poznań, Poland.
